MarkHub Chrome Extension (hereinafter referred to as "Extension") is an intelligent bookmark management tool that provides AI-driven folder recommendations and cloud synchronization. - MarkHub server address and authentication token
- Language preferences and interface settings
- AI service configuration (if enabled)
- Purpose: To save user preferences and connection settings
- Temporary Technical Data:
- URL and title of the current page (only when you click the extension)
- Page metadata (favicon, etc.)
- Purpose: For bookmark addition and AI analysis
Information We Do Not Collect
- Browsing history
- Personal identifiable information (name, email, etc., unless you actively provide it for account registration)
- Device fingerprints or unique identifiers
- Any webpage content unrelated to bookmark management
Data Storage
Local Storage
- All configuration information is stored locally on your device (chrome.storage.local)
- Temporary bookmark data is deleted immediately after synchronization is complete
- Local data is not transmitted to third parties
Cloud Storage
- Bookmark data is only synchronized to the MarkHub server you specify
- If you use the official MarkHub service, data is stored in a secure cloud database
- If you self-deploy MarkHub, the data is completely under your control

- storage: Store configuration information and temporary data locally
- activeTab: Get current page information for adding bookmarks
- scripting: Inject content scripts to display AI recommendation interface

- alarms: Set up scheduled synchronization tasks

Why do we need access to all websites?
- To add bookmarks on any website
- To get webpage icons and metadata
- To support user self-deployed MarkHub instances (which may be on any domain)
- To provide a consistent AI recommendation experience
Data Security Guarantees
- Only access page information when the user actively operates
- Do not collect webpage content unrelated to bookmark management
- Do not track user browsing behavior
AI Feature Description
AI Folder Recommendations
- Analyze the title and URL structure of the current page
- Provide recommendations based on your existing folder structure
- All analysis is done locally or sent to the AI service you configure
- Your browsing data will not be sent to third-party AI services
Data Processing
- AI analysis only uses page title and URL
- Recommendation results are based on your existing bookmark structure
- You can disable AI features at any time
Data Transmission
Communication with MarkHub Server
- Only transmit bookmark-related data (URL, title, tags, folder information)
- Use HTTPS encryption for transmission
- Data transmission only occurs when you actively synchronize
Third-party Services
- If AI features are enabled, page titles may be sent to the AI service you configure for analysis
- You can choose to use a local AI service or disable this feature
- No analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used
Limited Use of Data
In accordance with Google Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, we commit to:
- Allowed Use: Only use collected data to provide core bookmark management functionality
- Allowed Transfer: Only transfer bookmark data to the MarkHub server you specify
- Prohibited Advertising: Never use user data for personalized advertising
- Prohibited Human Reading: All data processing is automated, with no human intervention
Minimum Permission Principle
The Extension strictly follows the minimum permission principle:
- Only request permissions necessary for implementing core functionality
- Do not request permissions for future features or currently unimplemented features
- Choose the narrowest scope of permissions to implement bookmark management functionality
Children's Privacy
The Extension is not directed at children under 13 years of age and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
